Our Story

Rawhide Outfitters was founded in 1989 by John and Cathy Cranney, inspired by their love for the outdoors and a deep connection to the Salmon River Valley. What began as a way to share the places they loved most soon became a family way of life.
As their sons, Justin and Luke, grew up immersed in outfitting, guiding, and outdoor stewardship, the business naturally expanded into a multi-generation operation. Today, that tradition continues as the next generation, Sage, Jared, and Noah, learn the skills, values, and respect for the outdoors that have shaped Rawhide Outfitters from the beginning.
This family legacy is at the heart of everything we do and it shows in the care we bring to every trip.
